The W Network announced last evening that former Blue Jay farmhand Chris Leroux is the next star of Bachelor Canada.
The 33 year old Leroux is a Montreal native, and current resident of Mississauga, ON. He played in the major leagues for six seasons for the Florida Marlina, Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Yankees. Over the course of that time he had a 1-3 career record with a 6.03 earned-run average in 71 2/3 innings pitched with 66 strikeouts. He also played minor league ball for the Milwaukee Brewers, Philadelphia Phillies and Toronto Blue Jays, and spent time in Japan. His biggest accomplishment during his career was winning a gold medal while playing for Canada at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto.
The 6’1 Leroux recently decided to hang up the spikes, and now finds himself searching for true love among the 20 bachelorettes vying for his heart. The series is set to premiere this fall on the W Network.
